KOHYO’s History

Tokyo Tower completion and the beginning of KOHYO’s history.

Our Logistics business was founded in the same year of the completion of Tokyo Tower in 1958.

North of Ibaraki Prefecture, Kitaibaraki City was formed by union of 6 different towns and villages.
KOHYO Co., Ltd was founded during the peak of economy growth period in year 1956.
Kitaibaraki logistic limited company was founded 2 years later in 1958. Kitaibaraki logistic company deal with General area logistic at the beginning in the North of Kantou area, then, as the time change, we have expand into different areas such as, Waste treatment area, Construction business, Travel business, Dealing and selling Construction materials and more.
In 1988, the diversity of business and services, we have reorganized and established KOHYO Co., LTD.
During the 30years from the foundation date of KOHYO Co., Ltd. From then, we have been working within the area as a supportive company for peoples livelihood until now.
Now, we are expanding our business towards the globe and start inbound business. By supporting and connect with the local government, we contributed and revitalize the local area.

2nd May, 1958  License obtained from Kitaibaraki transportation authorization application for general trucking freight.
4th September, 1958  License obtained from the Tokyo department of motor vehicle (business area Kitaibaraki city).
 
22nd September, 1958  Kitaibaraki logistic limited company founded
 
1st April, 1980  KOHYO industry Co., Ltd Logistics business opened and start to service. Expand to Waste treatment service.Obtain permit for Industrial Waste treatment (in order)

1st August, 1980  Clearing the fire site under Musashino line in Urawa City, Saitama Prefecture.  Our company worked with Onahama Smelting and Refining CO., LTD. (now Mitsubishi Materials), and three other company to clear the site.
 
1st April, 1986  Initiation of raw sewage treatment before discharge into the sea (Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture)
 
5th August, 1986  License obtained from Tohoku District Transport Bureau for business expansion in Fukushima Prefecture
 
23rd October, 1986  License obtained from Kanto District Transport Bureau for business expansion in Tochigi Prefecture
5th February, 1987  Establishment of Iwaki office, Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture
Transportation business began in Fukushima and in Tochigi.
 
1st April, 1987  Logistics centre opened at the Head Office (219-6, Kamiokashita, Sekinamicho, Kitaibaraki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan)
9th August, 1987   Remove junks and debris after typhoon and flood disasters
Mito City: Used about 700 large transport vehicles to remove all the waste
Kitaibaraki City: Help to clean up and remove waste within the city
Remove waste from the sea after the disaster in Kashima, Hasaki area and Funabashi city. 
28th October, 1987  License obtained for General Construction Business
 
10th June, 1988 Appointed and licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as rice assembler
 
5th September, 1988  Re-organized of Kitaibaraki logistic limited company and change of companys name.  KOHYO Co., Ltd established
 
1st April, 1989  Tokyo branch in Minato City opened, Tokyo
 
21st July, 1989  License obtained for Ibaraki Prefecture septic tank maintenance and inspection business
 
10th June, 1991  License obtained from Ibaraki governor for selling rice business
Appointed and licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as food distributor
 
20th August, 1991  Relocation of the Head Office (219-6, Kamiokashita, Sekinamicho, Kitaibaraki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan)
7th September, 1992  Travel business set up and branch opened in Tokyo (1-11-13 Ōhashi, Meguro, Tokyo)
 
14th January, 1993  License obtained for General Travel business (Minister of Transport registration No. 1151)
 
2nd February, 1993  General Travel business services began.
 
1st March, 1993  Re-location of Tokyo branch (2-36-13, Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo)
 
5th July, 1993  License obtained for Special Construction Business
 
13th October, 1993  Appointed by the Food Agency as appointed warehouse
 
15th October, 1993  Appointed as the inspection station for Domestic agricultural products
22nd November, 1993  Accepted by the Japan Association of Travel Agents as Regular member
 
1st June, 1994  License obtained from Ibaraki governor for selling rice business
 
10th June, 1994  Appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as temporary food storage.
 
1st April, 1996  Received license for the Upper rank agency for Marine & Fire Insurance inspected by The General Insurance Association of Japan.
 
15th May, 1996  Hitachi branch opened (1-7-7 Kaminecho, Hitachi, Ibaraki, Japan)
 
24th May, 1996  Appointed as the General Waste processor for wide-area recycling
 
30th June, 1996  Register as the First category delivery handling business
25th February, 1998  Relocation of Kair air main office (219-6 Sekinamicho Kamiokashimo, Kitaibaraki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan) Tokyo branch closed.
 
9th July, 1998  Obtained License for the Expansion of the business area for Cargo truck carrier

12th November, 1999  License obtained for Iwaki City Septic tank maintenance and inspection business
 
10th May, 2000  License obtained for First category consigned freight business
 
17th March, 2001  Assist and cooperated with Ibaraki Prefecture to remove illegal dumpling within Itako City.
Used 12 days and 70 large dump trucks to remove and transport the illegal dumpling.
 
23rd March, 2001  Obtained license from Ibaraki Prefecture special management industrial waste association for collection and transport waste products.
 
18th April, 2001  Letter of Appreciation from the Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture for assisting and cooperated for remove illegal dumpling in Itako City.
 
7th November, 2002  Registered for the Iwaki City septic tank maintenance and inspection business
 
1st April, 2003  Licensed and assigned by Kitaibaraki for drainage system installation work.
 
12th November, 2003  Assist in the transportation and removal of Koi carp infected by the Koi herpes virus (Cyprinid Herpes Virus-3) from Lake Kasumigaura in Ibaraki Prefecture
It took 9 days and 14 large dunk trunks to remove all the infected Koi carp.
 
23rd March, 2006  License obtained from Ibaraki Prefecture special management industrial waste association for collection and transport waste products business
 
18th May, 2015  Tokyo branch inbound section opened in Kyobashi, Chuo City, Tokyo
 
15th December, 2015  Qualified for the Japan Trucking Association for Safety and Excellent Services (G-mark)
14th December, 2017  Qualified for the Japan Trucking Association for Safety and Excellent Services (G-mark)
